Weddings can be big and wonderful, full of food, music, dancing and extended friends & family. I spend most Saturdays documenting such festive celebrations but on a cold Thursday in January I witnessed a wholly other sort of wedding. It was intimate and wildly sweet, stripped down to the essentials and filled back up again with raw emotion. Jessica & Dustin were their own officiants and said Yes in front of just their parents and siblings – plus one talented pianist and 2 honored photographers. They both cried just about the entire time and both spoke deeply and broadly about their love for one another. They wrapped each other in love’s magic and to tell the whole story, I must say that they wrapped me up in their story and passion, too. It is their kind of love that scatters the darkness and beckons us all to the altar of hope. Melodramatic? Maybe, but also so very, very true.
