Karin & Phil appreciate what I consider to be the truly important things in life – family, commitment, intimacy, friendship. But they bring it to a whole new level with their love story, a story with chapters that aren’t in the ordinary order, but with details that call for something extra-ordinary. She says they are yin and yang: he’s laidback and she’s organized in a type A way; he’s quiet and she brings him out of his proverbial shell. Together they are just right – so right that they felt they didn’t have to follow the usual path to a wedding reception and instead they would write their story to fit their own timeline. Can I get an amen to that? He proposed amid moving boxes they were unpacking in their new home together. And they married in a private church ceremony almost a year ago in Cedarburg, Karin in a white jumpsuit and her mother’s veil. For their “engagement session” we meandered and explored the grounds of the lovely home they share so close to Lake Michigan and then they hosted their wedding reception at Bacchus. We were there to capture the peppy citrus details and vintage touches as they invited their nearest and dearest to enjoy a seriously civilized evening of dinner, drinks and some crazy fun dancing to live music. And then between laughter and toasts and all the happiness they could handle they shared the ultimate gift with all in attendance – they announced that after spending all this time planning their wedding reception they would be moving on to a new project: designing a nursery. Again, can I get an amen to that?
