Katelyn & Josh’s wedding day was everything they hoped it would be and even more than they dared to imagine. They wanted to treat all of their family and friends to a night out, an elegant celebration with a band and party hats, a chance to share the dawn of a new year with their favorite people on the planet. So they chose a New Year’s Eve wedding date and crossed their fingers for snow. They assumed they would succeed in all of their host & hostess goals, but they couldn’t have anticipated how much all those favorite people reached back to give them the most amazing day in return. Each laugh, smile, hug, tear, confetti toss and dance move added up to make it truly, the best day of their lives. We loved how focused they were on conveying their love and appreciation to family, on honoring their history and on being present for every moment of their whirlwind day. They wrote letters to family and family wrote letters to them; Katelyn surprised Josh with her heartbeat pattern inscribed on his ring (they are both nurses so heartbeats are particularly apropos,) and they were married at the same church her parents were nearly 3 decades ago. The day was full of sparkle and old-world glitz, but also red wellies just perfect for tromping in the wet snow and classic paper NYE crowns that go best with fresh baked cookies and cake. Cheers to classic NYE weddings and most of all, a lovely pair of souls whose hearts beat for one another!
