On a scale of 1 to 10 for Niceness, Maggie & Elliot are an 11. Gracious and quick to smile, these two instantly make everyone around them feel important and maybe even valued. But their niceness isn’t really the quality I most adore about them, it’s their kindness to each other, the way they are generous and careful with each other, always making sure the other is in a good place. They have the most adorable puppy and a gorgeous and well-cared for classic Tosa home. I met them there on a recent evening before the summer heat set in and we explored their beloved neighborhood, played under the twinkle lights in downtown Tosa and in the end reminisced about the life they have already lived together. It was the end of the session where I learned a dear memory they both share – the first time they walked arm in arm – and they happily, accidentally, wonderfully replayed the moment for me and really, for themselves. They first met at a wedding and walked down the aisle together, paired up by friends (and perhaps by fate.) So as we ascended the hilly street that leads down to Tosa’s main State Street Maggie naturally put her arm through Elliot’s and he simply said “welcome back, I like you here.” With a pause, she remembered that time years ago when they had also walked arm in arm and they dissolved into their own little world of memories and happiness. And just like Maggie & Elliot it was pretty perfect.
