 Baby Cecelia is so tiny and chubby and connected to her mom & dad it is easy to think of her as a baby, but Baby Cecelia, sister to Josephine, really isn’t a baby anymore.  Walking is in her very near future and her distinct ability to make her preferences known shows that really she is sliding into toddler status at this very moment. So on a perfect almost-fall afternoon we marked her first year of life, the nearing end of babydom and the start of toddlerhood, with a walk in the woods. We piled her and her favorite people on a blanket in the woods and we looked for toads in the pond. We threw rocks with her sister and ran around like crazy people while she watched and thought about it and eventually cracked a smile for her daddy. It was perfect, just like Cecelia.
