Michelle & Rob live in Washington, DC and judging by the initial pace of their walk through Lake Park they are two people who are always on the move. They have a certain presence that says put me to work, tell me what to do and I will get it done and with that comes a joyful energy that makes them a delight to photograph. After convincing them that I would do the work and they just needed to enjoy the morning together with nothing on the agenda, we slid into an easy conversation about all things big and small. Sporty and outdoorsy, their how we met story involves playing ice hockey out east. These days I’m pretty sure they’ve mostly traded hockey sticks for bikes and the focus of their attention has been evenly split between buying a house in DC and planning a wedding in the midwest. They are excited to gather their friends and family from around the country in Michelle’s adopted home state of Wisconsin next month because for them Milwaukee has a different (slower, less work focused) pace than DC. They love the little life they are building around their home on Capital Hill, but they also love the City-On-A-Great-Lake vibe that Milwaukee does so well. Just over a month from now they’ll tie the knot at the Art Museum and we are thrilled to be a part of their plans to celebrate in our fair city. So: Cheers to Milwaukee and all the couples who choose it when they choose each other.
