Not too long ago Tommy asked Harriette to share a life together with him, which in itself is pretty powerful. But place them both on an expansive deck overlooking Big Cedar Lake and it gets just that much sweeter. Add in that the deck is situated on the grounds of her family’s lovely and memory-filled property and well, it’s movie quality stuff, right? So on a sunny summer day I met them both at that house and they told me their stories – about work and play and family and the future. We visited the same spot where Tommy asked and we meandered close to the water after gazing at it from above. It seems to me that Harriette & Tommy are the kind of people who move through the world comfortable in their skins, but next to the water is where one can find them most at ease, most happy, most content. And that is exactly what these images show me: two people at home in each other’s presence, happy to be in a shared life from here on out, lake optional, but preferred.
