Ellen captured the wedding of Adam and Tracey on a blustery but beautiful September day last fall. Tracey and Adam planned their Milwaukee nuptials from Boston and Charlotte asTracey is a doctoral student at Boston College but setting up a life with Adam in North Carolina. Between defending a dissertation and loving life, Tracey and Adam didn’t have the easiest time planning their wedding. But with the help of some local Wisconsin pros and talented Etsy artisans they created a delicious and elegant day inspired by fact that Adam has the ‘key to her heart’. I love all her deftly coordinated details from the ‘I Do’ necklace to the vintage key place cards, the heart cookies and handmade touches. Not all themes are created equal and Tracey and Adam’s feels right for them – romantic, a little vintage, sweet and always elegant.
Between the ceremony and reception Tracey and Adam and their best friends took a walk by Milwaukee’s stunning lake Michigan for some iconic shots on an authentic Great Lake’s schooner even as big billowy clouds blew in to create a dramatic backdrop. Then, the intimate barrel vaulted Woman’s Club of Wisconsin played host to a perfect reception that married elegance with Milwaukee tradition including a nordic ski shot by the wedding party. How fun is that?
