Whitney & Dan | Ivy House Wedding

Whitney & Dan are the best kind of people. The kind of people who make time for family and friends on their wedding day, who pair a custom suit with Grandpa’s watch & a crisp romantic dress with mom’s bracelet, who open mouth smile and tear up all day because, well, its a big day. Whitney & Dan are the kind of people who are good with words, but could never command enough of them to fully convey how grateful they were to their families on their wedding day. Whitney & Dan are the kind of people that we spend 11 hours with and at the end think: can we do it all over again? Yes, Whitney & Dan are our kind of people.

This season has been a two-in-one as so many couples shifted their wedding plans from 2020 to 2021 along with the already-planning-for 2021 couples. Whitney & Dan fall into the latter category and they deftly navigated full venue calendars and always stayed flexible, choosing a Sunday wedding with all their favorite wedding pros on board instead of sticking to a Saturday plan. And so I offer this blog post back to them as a toast: a toast to their flexible yet steadfast nature, to their kindness and patience, and to the entity that is them, our kind of people.

Elizabeth & Jeff | Lake Geneva Country Club Wedding

Elizabeth & Jeff were married on one lake and celebrated their nuptials on another. The same goes for their wedding year: they said their vows in 2020 and renewed them in front of their extended family and friends in 2021. But despite the space and time in between wedding A and wedding B it was an incredible joy to be a part of the skillful knitting together of all the wedding locations, celebrations, dresses, and emotions that Elizabeth & Jeff have experienced over the last 2 years. We were there when they said I do on the shores of Lake Michigan and again when they renewed their vows at their beloved Lake Geneva Country Club. We were there when Elizabeth wore her mother’s veil and then when she wore a gorgeous beaded confection of expert tailoring and design. We were there when they first danced on the Riverwalk in Milwaukee and when they kicked off the night long party for the crowd at LGCC to the music of the same band that serenaded them the year before. And most importantly, they were there – with full hearts and open arms, ready to share the promises of a lifetime with all their favorite people. So cheers to tiny weddings and cheers to vow renewals. Cheers to staying the course and cheers waiting patiently. Cheers to Elizabeth & Jeff ~
