Elena & Neil | Greek Wedding at St James 1868, Marquette and Grain Exchange

Elena & Neil’s wedding day was incredible. As in: hard to believe. I was there and I’m sitting here looking at the images I was a part of making for them and I still wonder: Was it real? Was it really that fun? That joyful, that hilarious, that sweet, that touching, that FULL of love? The short answer is Yes. It really was all of those things and so much more because every part of Elena and Neil’s wedding was designed to share their story, their humor, their particular brand of awesomeness with all of their favorite people. They are both the type to give a lot of themselves away in their everyday lives, the kind of people who help others first and ask questions later. They are on the unassuming side, people who try to blend in but make a big impact through their kindness and their gifts. They are inclusive and warm and very much one another’s favorite person. And so it felt very fitting that these two were gifted such an amazing day by their families who surrounded them with tradition and care, who insisted that everything be just right because these two would never ask for anything which means they deserve everything and more. In this case Everything meant gorgeous surrounds and florals, meaningful toasts and details, lots and lots of music, and of course, all the Greek traditions of Elena’s family. Friend, it was a Party. A giant, happy, amazing, totally incredible Party. See for yourself:

Milwaukee Family Photography in Lake Park

If you follow this blog you undoubtedly know we dedicate all our space and words to wedding and newborn photography, but something else we are honored to photograph is multi-generational family sessions. Sessions like this sweet, joyful, play-based one with Megan’s extended family. She contacted us to capture this special time in her life with her favorite people including her parents who are in their 40th year of marriage. So, on a sunny afternoon in Milwaukee we gathered together to spend some time and I was there to document it for them. From kid wrangling to cousin fun, sibling friendship to grandparent praise, I loved everything about this session and I just couldn’t let this one only go to the full gallery. So get ready to crack a smile and laugh at some sweet kid antics and then go give your own family a big hug for me.
