Whitney & Aaron | Fall Wedding at The Atrium

In this particular season of Thanksgiving I am humbled. I do not know the exact reasons as each day I try to put to words the fact that I feel so… impressed by the existence of Great Love. I am impressed by real people who feel immensely connected to other humans – impressed by the awe-some task of recording the tidal waves of love and devotion that our couples and their families invite us to witness. There is so much I worry about these days but a day spent with Whitney & Aaron was exactly what my big heart needed to again be firm in the belief that there is so much love and hope and simple kindness in the world. Whitney & Aaron are thoughtful – as in Thought-Full – and their wedding day showed every bit of their compassion and care for others as they took time to connect with every guest, every friend, every one who made the effort to be a part of their celebration at Shorewood’s The Atrium. I could tell you little details about them like the fact they they are both crazy smart, that he is a FANatic level soccer fan, that Chicago is home but really anywhere their pup Ella lives is probably home, that he cares A LOT about food and that their parents and sibs adore them. But really all that matters is that Whitney chose Aaron and Aaron chose Whitney and forever begins now. So breathe deeply, my friends, love is in the air.

Remi & Reva | Chicago At Home Family Photography

A partial list of things I love: newborn skin, big sisters, fur siblings longing for a scratch, family at Christmas-time, being cozy at home with your favorite humans in the world. This session with newborn Remi ticks all the boxes on my list and my dears, I couldn’t be happier to share this sweet Chicago home family session today. Big sister Reva is a bundle of energy and joy, squeals and hopping laughter. I first met her almost exactly 2 years ago when she was 11 weeks fresh and I adored seeing how she’s grown and how she’s making space for her new little sister Remi Caroline. So far though, Remi doesn’t require much these days and mostly prefers to be in her mama’s arms in a position that can only be described as verrrry reclined. In this season of Thanksgiving its moments with little families like this one that makes me hopeful for all of our tomorrows. And so I’ll borrow from the HRC framed print on Remi & Reva’s bedroom wall that says in part little girls, never doubt. Never doubt that your mama and daddy love you so, never doubt that family and a big heart will get you through anything, never doubt that you are what the world needs today.
