Becca & Rick | Osthoff Resort Wedding

Becca & Rick are at home in Indianapolis where they live and work their engineering and design dreams, but at their Osthoff Resort wedding their love of history (her), fast vehicles (him), and lake life (both of them) defined their day. Becca celebrated family traditions and shared history, relying on her mom and grandmother to gather and share the beautiful glassware that made up part of their reception centerpieces. Along with the blue and green vintage bottles that became vases her whole family gathered to create the minimalist inspired table numbers and oh-how-lovely they turned out. We loved how the little touches throughout their day became the big details to remember: celtic wishing stones invited their guests to bless them and they included an emotional hand fasting tradition in their ceremony. They took time to travel to Road America, Rick’s Happy Place, to share a few moments with one another and watch the sunset. And so our wish for them this Thanksgiving Day is to keep all of those details close to their hearts and minds every day – take time to feels those stones in hand, fill the vases with flowers, watch the sunset, go for a drive, dance in the kitchen, and always hold each other close.

Emerson Rene | Milwaukee Natural Light Newborn Photography

For some new parents having a baby feels like going on a a grand, insanely frightening but awesomely wonderful adventure. I’m pretty sure that’s a good way to describe Lindsey & Bennett and their new life with baby Emerson who shares a middle name with her mom and grandmother and a birthdate with a great grandfather. We first met Lindsey & Bennett when they were planning their Milwaukee wedding from LA and with the birth of Emerson I was happy to welcome them back to the midwest and the classic Milwaukee bungalow life. Up until now renovating their Tosa home and even some of the furniture in Emerson’s nursery have been dad’s passion projects but I get the sense that all hands are on deck for Emerson now, and what a wonderful pivot for dad to make. Emerson is cuddly and warm, all cheeks and chubby arms, a mystery to her kitty siblings and a delight to her mom and dad. I adore these at home, simple and sweet photos of Emerson and the couple she’s made into a family. Happy Thanksgiving all – Emerson proves we all have much for which to be thankful.
