The last time I met little Brooke she was a newborn babe, all soft skin and sleepy eyes. Now, six months later she’s still in possession of that cashmere-soft skin, but her eyes are as bright, blue and inquisitive as can be. On a crisp fall day in Chicago’s Lincoln Park she showed them off for me, along with her delightful smile. We meandered along the sentimental paths that Chicagoans love, reminiscing about the time her dad asked her mom to marry him in this very park. And so: Brooke discovered leaves for the first time and the city & Jean Gang’s pavilion played the parts of perfect photography backgrounds. Mom & Dad told their engagement story and cuddled their sweet baby girl. And all the while all I could think was well isn’t this the most perfect morning in Chicago with the most lovely little family?

I could write a lot of flattering (totally true) things about Sally-Anne & Patrick’s September wedding. I could write about how they have sweet families that would go to the moon and back for them, about how they value hard work with a hefty dose of fun, about how they have a taste for all things classic but know how to personalize their traditional meets Kate Spade style. I could, and I guess I just did, but the the real story of Sally-Anne & Patrick’s wedding day is all about joy. Joy. All caps with extra exclamation points JOY!!! Patrick is fun and funny, and if marrying Sally-Anne wasn’t the bets gift already, her WWF heavy weight belt gift to him on their wedding day has officially made Patrick the happiest man alive. And oh yeah, the best part is that Patrick is head-over-heels in love with Sally-Anne and as Alanis says, its all her fault. Sally-Anne is a riot; her spot on dry humor and thoughtfulness means that she has a passion for finding meaning in her world and having the most fun while she’s making the world a better place. Life is better, brighter, SPARKLIER when Sally-Anne is around and their wedding day was all kinds of amazing because of that. Their bold style choices were the coolest background for their real life Best.Day.Ever. They tossed confetti and played WWF Champion, danced to an amazing band and hugged it out all day. They felt and shared their joy with their favorite people and in the process made themselves some of our favorite people, too. Cheers to love and cheers to joy. Cheers to Sally-Anne & Patrick!
