Emily & Jack | Discovery World Pavilion Wedding on the Lakefront

Emily & Jack’s lakeside wedding day was an entirely elegant affair with a laid back Sunday afternoon vibe. We loved all of their completely personal details – from their choice of officiant to their evening tea ceremony, Emily & Jack imbued their day with history, meaning, and loveliness. They started the day just steps from Milwaukee’s lakefront at the Westin and along with their small bridal party they made time to enjoy the lake views and Milwaukee’s cityscape before tying the knot at Discovery World’s new glassy Lakefront Pavilion. With an armful of the most colorful, gorgeous flowers we’ve seen all summer, Emily said I Do to Jack and Jack said I Do to Emily and from there the celebration erupted in earnest. As the sun set over the lake they danced and toasted guests at each table, cracking open custom Emily & Jack fortune cookies. Together with parents, aunts and uncles, they performed a traditional tea ceremony in front of a custom Double Happiness sculpture and every guest in attendance could be seen smiling from ear to ear. Emily & Jack – as the cookies wished us: May you always have good health, good luck and happiness!

Megan & Alec | Annunciation Greek Orthodox & Turner Hall Wedding

romantic summer fall wedding flowers in burgundy

Megan and Alec’s summer wedding day at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church & Turner Hall was by turns emotional and sweet, uproariously fun and full of champagne, intimate but inclusive, and ultimately, really, really wonderful. We loved the little details Megan and Alex chose to incorporate – some family traditions and some Greek traditions, and some a combination of both. With coins in their shoes and good luck charms pinned to her dress, my favorite part of the day was when Megan and Alec met to exchange their vows privately.  There are no bride & groom vows during the Greek Orthodox ceremony but it was important to them that they share a spoken commitment to one another on their wedding day. And so, around the corner from all of their giddy, waiting friends Megan & Alec saw each other for the first time on August 18th, read letters to on another, cried a little and then held one another close. From there they were rarely not holding hands and surrounded by their best friends & adoring parents they lived the best day of their lives. I mean really, isn’t true love the best gift in life?
