Jaimie & Kyle met me for the first time on the steps of one of the world’s most lovely buildings. It was a fitting start to a sweet engagement session characterized by creamy hues and soft sunlight, lots of smiles and a bit of blushing. They both claimed to be shy and not sure what to do, but it turns out that as long as she had his hand to hold and he had her eyes to focus on, they did everything perfectly. We wandered through the gardens of the Art Institute and made a warm, totally worth it pilgrimage to the Buckingham Fountain. Along the way they gave me little peeks into how they spend their days and what motivates them, slowly but surely inviting me onto their world. It was a lovely way to spend an afternoon in Chicago and I think you’ll agree it was a beautiful one, too.

Jen & Jean found their path to one another the long way. Before becoming one another’s person they had already built meaningful lives full of family, friends and faith. But once they found each other all those things became even more sacred, more joyful, more important because everything is better when it’s shared. So on their wedding day they asked their families to blend and their friends to get to know one another. They asked their children to become siblings and they invited everyone present to be a part of their faith family. It was a day full of sunshine and promises, lake views and laughter, but perhaps most of all, blessings.
