Kai Zayden is a tiny new human who already owns the hearts of at least three other people. His mom & dad are madly in love with him and big sister Lara is cautiously but lovingly interested in “baby.” And then there is Chloe. Chloe is the family’s first fur baby and legitimately the best dog ever. Chloe both guards and adores, follows directions and asks for attention. Chloe is Lara’s buddy and promises to be Kai’s, too. On the morning I met Kai for the first time it was a sun-filled day and Lara was happy to read to me. Chloe perched and protected and Kai mostly slept. What a perfect way to spend a day – from puppy cuddles to mama snuggles, I loved photographing all the ways this family is just beginning to know their newest member. How sweet it is, indeed.

Baby Samson joins a family very much in progress. Lucy, James and Ambrose are a vivacious trio genuinely thrilled to add Samson to their number. On this gorgeous spring day they showed me all his soft skin and were excited to alternate between holding baby, playing with each other and cuddling mom. I’ve photographed each of the children at the newborn stage and I am always excited to see what literary inspiration their parents have chosen for their names and to work with the incredible hand crocheted blankets dad and family have made each time around.  In this 4th and perhaps final baby session for the family there were fewer “things” to photograph but there was  even more love than I could have imagined. So wrap yourself up in something cozy like these children have throughout this session and take a gander at all of the sibling joy in this post welcoming Samson.
