Some babes have all the luck. Newborn Marjorie Elizabeth already has an adorable nickname (Margie), the world’s most patient dog, a brother AND a sister, a sunny & sweet bedroom plus the best parents a child could hope for. I know all of this to be true because I’ve photographed her parents since before they were married and even visited them in Seattle many, many moons ago before Wisconsin called them back home to grow their careers and family. Right now Margie only knows snuggles and milk, warmth and comfort, but I know that waiting for her is a sister who wants to swing with her and teach her how to do puzzles. A brother who has perfected a mean paper airplane design and might one day let her up in his top bunk to play. There are toys and bubbles and scooters to ride, a fun pink bathroom to take bubble baths in and a big swing set in the back yard with a slide that will one day be just perfect for her. All of that written, I know that her mom and dad are pressing pause on this moment, THIS tiny moment when she doesn’t know about all those alluring possibilities and instead just requires arms to hold her. Welcome to t he world baby girl; it’s so nice to have you here.
