Danielle & Austins’ sunny, summer wedding in La Crosse was something of a homecoming for these two. Austin is in medical school (although by the time I write this it may be post-school, but the path of anyone in medicine is always winding.) Danielle is his rock and has her own busy life as an educator, but La Crosse is the place where things feel a bit…calmer, nostalgic, full of friendship and key for these two: fun. They started the day at Mt. La Crosse, the ski hill turned alpine summer dreamscape and the perfect place to host an outdoor wedding with greenery as your preferred backdrop. They asked for privacy during their first look but then they invited us on a hilly walk through the landscape to make some sweet memories enjoying the fields and the feel of sun on your skin. Surrounded by their favorite people they said I Do and kicked off the party with a school bus ride to the church-turned-ballroom space of Capella Events. We loved their attention to all of the little (edible) details of a good Wisconsin Wedding paired with gorgeous florals. If there was ever a wedding post prompted by “tell me you got married in Wisconsin without telling me you got married in Wisconsin” this is it: cheese curds, full pints of Culver’s custard, flip cup and bags, a 50/50 raffle, pong and bucket hats and the hilarious twist of the cornhat gang which I am guessing was an Iowa-based contingent competing for superiority with their Wisconsin neighbors. It was the best day for two of the best people and we are so honored to have been there to capture the story in images. Cheers to Danielle & Austin!
