Sarah & Kerry | A Cuvee Wedding

Sarah and Kerry are one of the busiest couples I’ve ever met. We squeezed their engagement session in between flights last fall and Sarah’s kind thank you emails usually get typed out between patients at the emergency room where she’s on rotation. Despite the obviously frenetic life they live they have a remarkable way of being still and completely present when it’s just the two of them. Even if it’s really just the two of them…in a crowd. Their winter wedding day was my last of 2010 and I adore their date – 12.11.10. (Full disclosure: I was married on 06.05.04 so we’re sequential date kindred spirits, I suppose.) We anticipated snow but got rain and while I expected the rain to dampen spirits it seemed instead to encourage an atmosphere of cozy camaraderie. Maybe it was just me but I would swear more than one person was humming baby, its cold outside…and feeling the spirit of the season.

Fortunately, with their busy out of state schedules they knew that designing their dream wedding would require more time and attention to detail than they had to allot so they engaged the ever-fabulous David Caruso and his team at Dynamic Events to make their day truly magical. I’ve included waaay more detail shots than usual because I just can’t help myself – the colors, shapes, textures and feel of the whole day enchanted me deeply.

Sarah & Kerry’s first look at the Pfister was delightful; the look on Kerry’s face the first time he saw her will stay with me for a long time. He twirled her and she laughed. They drank each other in for a few quiet moments before joining family and friends. Once at St. Francis of Assisi Sarah viewed the start of guests arriving from the choir loft – a beautiful wooden balcony that gave her a a perfect view of where their candle-lit I dos would commence.

During the toasts Sarah and Kerry appeared completely grateful – not just for the beautiful, perfect day, or even for the love of one another. Mostly, they were grateful for all the love and support and opportunities to be happy that all of the people in the room had afforded them in their lives. I was grateful, too to be a part of such a magical and loving experience. It made my day, my weekend, my year.
