Tracy & Bob | Vegas Love

Tracy & Bob are from Wisconsin but moved to Las Vegas some years back. In many respects it is pretty obvious to me why one would move to Las Vegas from Wisconsin, but when I met them I had to ask for the summary. Tracy’s response was not what I was prepared for and it’s become one of my favorite engagement prelude stories. Bob was a groomsmen in a Wisconsin winter wedding and was fighting through snow and slippery traffic for hours on end to pick up his tux on time to make it to the wedding. Straight faced and with few words by way of preface, he turned to Tracy and said something like I’m done. I’ve got a line on a job in Vegas and I’m going. Do you need a ring to come with me? Without hesitation she honestly replied nope, a dog will do. Three dogs and the same number of years later they’ve built a lovely life in the sun and palms of Nevada.  And yes, she has a ring, too. Pretty perfect, if you ask me.

We spent a morning and an afternoon together in two completely opposite and equally awesome locations in their adopted state: The Boneyard at the Neon Museum and Red Rock National Park and I couldn’t have been more pleased with their taste in shooting locales. They proved as straight forward  in front of the lens as they are in real life and Bob was right when he told me the camera would love him.

Tracy & Bob’s brood of adorable furry pups came along in the afternoon and rocked some family portraits. With the sun setting behind the eponymous red rocks of the park we played in the sumptuous light of the desert. So very into one another, Tracy & Bob filled the afternoon with romance and I loved shooting these gorgeous portraits of them in love.

I had an awesome assistant and second shooter on this shoot who joined me in Las Vegas. Check out Caca’s blog for lovely work from Southern California and around the world.
