Jennie & Chris are a sweet bundle of contradictions and surprises that somehow add up to make them predictably unpredictable in the most stylish and lovely way possible. They are private people but inviting and open at the same time; they love a celebration but a good conversation with best friends even more; Jennie is all about black and white, but red is her favorite color and perhaps best of all they love lazy days spent at home with their dog Dude but a trip to Paris or Florence would equal perfection. So what do you do when you are Jennie & Chris and live in Wisconsin but want to get married in Italy? Easy: you get married at Villa Terrace so that you can have your statues, formal gardens, courtyard ceremony and terra cotta tiles but you can also have all your favorite people present along with your dog and a sweet serving of late night gourmet sliders to top it all off. All of this is to say that Jennie & Chris did their wedding their way, with smashing black & white style and DIY touches (Jennie letter-pressed all the exquisite invites and family members helped her create a gaggle of little Audrey Hepburn-inspired flowers girl dresses) and I adore everything about their airshow weekend wedding. They started the day in the gardens, sharing an emotional first look with their dog Dude and then she donned her veil and they met in the garland draped courtyard to say yes, forever. With only immediate family present it was a beautiful and emotional prelude to a formal dinner on the terrace. And then, after sweet toasts and lots of laughs Jennie & Chris put a little sand under their toes and watched the sunset as a wider circle of friends arrived to wish them well. They ascended once again through the gardens to dance and toast and laugh some more, all to thunderous applause and too many smiles to count. It was everything they wanted and more than they imagined; it was her, it was him, it was them – it was perfect.
