Claire & Joe are city people; he’s a solid Chicago guy and she’s lived in his city for years now. But there is something about a wedding that calls a bride home – and for Claire that was the opportunity to have their wedding sacrament performed by her childhood priest. So Milwaukee became the setting for their mini-destination wedding, a wedding filled with family and laughter and perfect sunshine all day long. They said I Do at the end of the long nave of St. Robert’s in Shorewood, and enjoyed the fall colors on every tree in a nearby park, stealing just a few magical moments alone by the river before they toasted and danced the night away in grand style at the ever-elegant Pfister. I love their pops-of-pink + tuxedo style and how they kept everything so clean and classic, something that is deceptively difficult to do in my opinion. And I have to mention the example their parents clearly have set for them in the happiness department. It was obvious by any measure that their moms and dads are clearly in love with their spouses and were thrilled to see their children wed into one another’s families. That is the highest compliment I see on wedding days and all I could ever add to such sweetness is the comment that these two Chicagoans made the absolute most of Milwaukee in October and I’m certain they’ll make the most every day in their ever after together, too.
