Shannon & Tim | Discovery World & Old St. Mary’s Wedding

discovery world wedding cocktail cruise

Shannon & Tim have ties that bind them to places separated by half a world. He is from the UK and she from Wisconsin but their everyday reality and life together is out east here in the US. So for them the only thing they dreamed about for their wedding day was having all of their favorite people together in one place, a logistical minor miracle they were thrilled to see come to fruition this past August. Much of the wedding weekend played out in a very American fashion and Tim’s parents were delighted to note the differences here and there between British and American traditions. But little British tributes were easy to spot from the giant Union Jack Shannon’s beloved Nana flew on the flagpole at her estate where the rehearsal was held and where Shannon dressed for the wedding to the ubiquitous Pimm’s Cocktails enjoyed alongside Spotted Cows. The day itself was sunny and blue, the weather perfect for the planned cocktail cruise and drinks on the Pilot House deck overlooking the city. The lake showed off its talent for looking lovely and little (big) details about the day made everything come together in a heartfelt and joyful way for Shannon & Tim. Cardinal Dolan officiated their wedding mass and Shannon was surrounded by her brothers during the ceremony – one at her side, another in the choir loft offering sung prayers and another helping with altar duties alongside the Cardinal. Tim’s best friends and sisters made the long trip across the pond and everyone – Everyone – toasted and danced in celebration of Shannon & Tim. So really, all that is left to write is

Cheers to Love and may you have many years of Happily Ever After!

Molly & Neal | Milwaukee Art Museum Wedding

milwaukee art museum golden hour wedding

On a perfect midwestern day in August, Molly & Neal were married in their favorite city, at their favorite spot, surrounded by their favorite people. All of the ingredients that went into making the perfect day for them were carefully considered and wholly celebrated by these two romantics who envisioned their wedding as part of a Great Circle of those who came before and those who will come after. Everything – and we mean Everything – was intentional. Their bridal party gifts were largely selected from local outfitters and makers here in Milwaukee and Neal’s guys flew the Milwaukee flag on their socks, a nod to the fact that Milwaukee is THEIR city and Molly & Neal were thrilled to host a destination wedding of sorts for much of their family. Molly’s veil was edged in lace from her mother’s wedding gown and in her hands as she said I do was her grandmother’s handkerchief. Molly’s family has a long history of marking important transitions with bagpipes, so like her mother and grandmother a piper in kilted dress recessed the newlyweds down the aisle. Their officiant was a former mentor and current friend and at the end of the night Molly & Neal tipped their proverbial hats to all the great men they have loved and lost in their lives with a cigar bar to savor. Happy tears were often on their cheeks and all day it was such a celebration of love and family that it would be impossible to look at these images and not smile. So as we turn to autumn in the midwest, today seems like a very good day to be back in sunny summer, by the lake getting married outside and into the night with a kickin’ band and late night treat of milk and cookies. Sounds pretty perfect, right?
