Jackie & Ron | Pfister Hotel & Basilica of St Josaphat Wedding

Being a photographer in Milwaukee has a kind of rhythm to it as longer sunny days mean more weddings and people eager to capture life’s most lovable moments and shorter winter days mean its time to kick the hygge in high gear. The first weekend in November is my own personal marker as to when it is officially time for sanctioned hiding out by a fireplace as it historically means the end of wedding high season in the Midwest. It also seems to be the most gloriously lovely fall weekend of all the fall weekends when everyone expects it to be snowing and in fact, the sun is out, the sky is blue and that classic crisp air makes a little shoulder wrap all the more beautiful. That history-based prediction proved true once again this year when Jackie & Ron invited us to come along on their sweetest of November wedding days. But in all truth it wasn’t just the perfect weather that made their wedding a cherished experience for us; indeed, it was the fact that Ron and Jackie are two humans I want to be real life friends with and if possible I would request that they become my neighbors. Ron is madly, deeply, heart-on-his-custom-made-sleeve in love with Jackie and Ron is absolutely Her Person. To top it off, all – and I mean ALL – of their friends and family adore them and are rooting for them and thus the recipe for what I am now calling The Perfect Way To Spend A November Saturday, otherwise known as Jackie & Ron’s wedding. I invite you to jump into this one asap, it’s so sweet you’ll wish they were your neighbors, too.

Lauren & Brennan | St James 1868 October Wedding

Lauren & Brennan’s wedding was a wonderfully emotional day and night filled with joyous parents, happy tears and sentimental touches that spoke volumes about their love of family. Multiple times throughout the day both of them has to make use of handkerchiefs and pauses to breathe because everything was just so much better than they could have imagined. Something we loved about their day was that they shared private vows before visiting the lake to take in blue skies and generous sunshine. They followed that with a sweet ceremony at St James 1868 and an outdoor cocktail hour where guests wrapped themselves in cozy blankets and enjoyed what very possibly was the last outdoor evening of fall. After that it was back to emotional shared moments as they joined the family tradition of drinking from their own “Loving Cup” and danced the night away with parents and friends in full dance mode. It was a party and promise to build a life worth living, a celebration and a dream come true.

Molly & Michael | Bluemound Country Club & Christ King Wedding

Molly & Michael celebrated their wedding day in the only way they could have ever imagined: with open hearts, surrounded by family and friends, in the church, representing their country, and with a little help from their fave college mascot, Bucky. Michael wore his US Navy formal dress blues and several of his groomsmen wore their service dress uniforms and really, a uniform is the only thing that looks even better than tux on a classic wedding day. Molly showed up in style, too, wearing a gorgeous dress but also special family heirloom jewelry. There was so much to love and enjoy about Molly & Michael’s wedding day, but I can’t resist listing just a few of our favorite things: the way Michael looked at Molly when she walked down the aisle. The way Michael’s best man joined in the toasts even though he’s deployed. The way there were tears and laughter in equal measure all because two people found their soul’s delight in one another. It was a glorious day and not a single person present would change anything about it, including Bucky who couldn’t have asked for a better Badger crowd as he hit his headstand perfectly!
