Katie & Drew | Milwaukee Athletic Club Wedding

When I first met Drew he really, really wasn’t sure about being the center of attention as part of a photo shoot. He acquiesced during the engagement session and we made some sweet imagery together where his fiance Katie was undoubtedly the star. (Well, I should also mention their pup who made a furry, perfect appearance about 75% through the shoot.) That said, Katie & Drew’s wedding day was a whole other story. Drew was in it to win it – totally captivated by Katie, thrilled to be around friends, joyful to the point of losing any potential self-consciousness to the day – a day that was 1000% perfect. Katie was all sparkles and grace (with the perfect hair) but more importantly she was PRESENT and open hearted. Drew was equally present and very much convinced all over again why he wanted to marry this incredible woman. Together they were exactly the kind of couple we love to photograph – spirited, confident and madly in love. It was a perfect day for an incredible couple. Enjoy.

Newborn Kai | At Home Natural Light Family Photography

Kai Zayden is a tiny new human who already owns the hearts of at least three other people. His mom & dad are madly in love with him and big sister Lara is cautiously but lovingly interested in “baby.” And then there is Chloe. Chloe is the family’s first fur baby and legitimately the best dog ever. Chloe both guards and adores, follows directions and asks for attention. Chloe is Lara’s buddy and promises to be Kai’s, too. On the morning I met Kai for the first time it was a sun-filled day and Lara was happy to read to me. Chloe perched and protected and Kai mostly slept. What a perfect way to spend a day – from puppy cuddles to mama snuggles, I loved photographing all the ways this family is just beginning to know their newest member. How sweet it is, indeed.

Aly & Sam | Pfister Hotel May Wedding

Aly & Sam’s May wedding day was the breath fresh air, the dawn of a sunny day, the light at the end a midwestern winter tunnel that we all needed. We were scheduled to stay cozied up in the always beautiful and refined spaces of the iconic Pfister Hotel, but the sun called and Aly & Sam answered. Along with their families and closest friends they celebrated a bit of spring and kicked the day off perfectly by stepping outside for natural light portraits and to make some sweet Milwaukee memories together. From there they celebrated their wedding with tradition and ritual and a whole lot of specifically Aly & Sam goodness. From Aly wearing her mother’s wedding shoes to Sam’s heirloom kippah, from ketubah shots to colorful flowers in abundance, from the most luxurious burger for dinner you ever did see to the best band you ever did hear – this wedding was 100% wonderful and 1000% Aly & Sam. So get ready to smile, to laugh, to cry and to dance along with these two halves of a sweet soul. Cheers to Aly & Sam!
